Libra and Taurus Compatibility: The Idealist and the Lover

The Idealist and the Lover – are they not heading for a happily ever after situation filled with romance, idealism, fluffy bunnies and rainbows? Isn’t that how the story always ends? Well for Libra and Taurus, compatibility can be instant and the attraction can be overwhelming…but is this a relationship which can last or is it built on castles in the air?
There’s a strong magnetism between Libra and Taurus, founded mainly by their shared ruling planet. Venus, of course, is the planet of love, romance, sensuality and beauty, which is why these two can’t take their eyes off one another when they first meet. They both love the arts, music, good food and the finer things in life, and they both adore old fashioned courtship – so initially, certainly, the relationship gets off to a good and respectful start. For Libra and Taurus, compatibility depends upon stability and security in a relationship, however. Does this couple offer that kind of safety to one another?
Yes. And no. In a way. Emotional security is vital to Taurus, and Libra compatibility is all about harmony and peace. Together, they’re not likely to rock the boat overly much, so there is stability of a sort. However, there is a conflict here between the elements of these two signs. Whereas Taurus is a deep rooted earth sign, Libra is a breezy air sign, constantly fluctuating in mood and mind. Libra seeks harmony, certainly, but in finding that balance the Libra partner will veer from one extreme to the other, rather than sitting safely in the middle like Taurus does. Libra and Taurus compatibility can be rocked when Taurus finds Libra’s indecisiveness and mood swings too much to bear.
Libra’s mythical archetype is the Idealist; everything has to be perfect. In this relationship, the Libra partner will be constantly trying to improve the couple’s life, whether materially or emotionally. Libra is fixated on how things could be, or should be. Taurus, on the other hand, is firmly in the “how things are” camp and is completely realistic about what’s going on. When the relationship works well, both signs can learn from one another. Taurus can learn some social graces and charm from Libra, while Libra can learn the value of actually making up your mind from decisive Taurus. The Libra partner’s love of a good social life could be a stumbling block, however, as Taurus would much rather it be just the two of them. When Libra begins to flirt, as Libra always does, Taurean jealousy and possessiveness could go into overdrive. Libra means nothing by it, but Taurus doesn’t get that. And where Libra and Taurus compatibility is vulnerable, unrealistic expectations from Libra only serve to compound the problem.
For a long lasting relationship to thrive, hard work and compromise will be needed from both Taurus and Libra. Compatibility between this earth and air couple is so instinctive to begin with…and so tricky to hold onto. Where earth and air conflict, the result is a dust storm which chokes both partners. The key to success for this couple is to build on their strengths – their shared romantic natures, for instance, and to acknowledge and actively choose to minimise their weaknesses. Without deliberate action, this relationship – so charming and special when it began – could drift into passivity, boredom and nothingness. It’s vital for Libra and Taurus compatibility that the couple do not take that initial attraction for granted.

How long have you guys been together? My boyfriends the libra also. You wrote this post March 8 and that’s when we were together at age13 fell for each other quick and hard, just as easy as it said we couldn’t take our eyes off each others it was the best feeling we were together for 4 then split for a year and a half and and now we’re both 18 now and back together but things seem to be going downhill just like it mentions.
This seems very true.a libra can get irritated by a taurus if not perfect in their eyes.and lose interest.it takes more of the taurus to give it seems to keep libra happy .it can be hard work.

Hi everyone me and this guy have been talking for almost 2 months now and were very happy. We have boredom times already cause he lives 3 hours away from me and all we do is video chat and talk on the phone. I’m the Libra. Things are great of course because its the beginning.
